San Leon Energy plc is a publicly listed energy company focused on Nigeria. It holds a 10.58% indirect economic interest in Oil Mining Lease 18, a producing asset located onshore in Nigeria. San Leon is aiming to use OML 18 as a platform to become a leading independent production and exploration company focused on Nigeria and West Africa. It is securing and developing further high potential asset opportunities that yield value to shareholders.

Design and production of San Leon’s 2019 annual report took place entirely during the Covid-19 lockdown, following one initial briefing meeting and with the challenge of contributing parties being in multiple locations and time zones. Key objectives for the report were improving the use of space and reducing the pagination overall, introducing more stats to the highlights spread, and using new photography to show the real environment San Leon works in.

FourthQuarter produced the page plan which reduced the overall page count by 16 pages. We also developed a new style for company charts and graphs, reducing the emphasis on corporate yellow, which had started to dominate previous reports. We also put the focus back on the company logo, using the lion icon as an outline feature to carry images or sit behind graphics.

San Leon’s 2019 annual report is a clearly structured, easy to navigate report, with clear layouts that help the reader to engage with them. It also uses imagery that San Leon can own, helping to position the company as a growing business that manages its interests and responsibilities well.
